Listing Rules
Draft version. Effective date: [DATE]
These rules keep the Site safe and useful. Breaking them can get a listing removed and an account closed. They are part of our Terms of Use.
What you can list
Used (or new, unused) equipment that helps people move, transfer, or stay safe at home:
- Mobility scooters, power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, and canes
- Stair lifts, platform and vehicle lifts, ramps, and hand controls
- Hospital beds, lift chairs, and bathroom safety equipment
- Batteries, chargers, cushions, and other parts and accessories for the above
What you cannot list
- Items you do not own or have no right to sell, and anything stolen.
- Prescription medical devices and supplies, such as oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines, ventilators, nebulizers, and any medication.
- Anything that is not mobility or home-safety equipment, and anything illegal to sell.
- Items you know are unsafe and are not marked Parts Only, including items under an open safety recall that you have not told buyers about.
- Items with a removed or altered serial number.
- Duplicate listings for the same item.
How to write an honest listing
- Choose the grade that truly matches the written grade description. If in doubt, choose the lower grade.
- Check the seller checklist only if it is true. If something does not work, choose Parts Only and say what is wrong.
- Use your own photos of the actual item, including the serial plate.
- Describe the item only. Do not write about anyone's health or medical condition.
- Do not put email addresses, phone numbers, or links to other sales sites in a listing, a wanted post, or a message. Use Share My Contact once you are both comfortable.
Payments and scams
The Site never handles your money. These are all warning signs of a scam. If you see them, stop, and report the listing or message:
- Someone asks for payment by gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or a payment app to someone you have not met.
- A buyer sends a check or money order for more than the price and asks you to send back the difference.
- A seller will not let you see the item, or says an agent or shipping company will handle everything after you pay.
- The price is far below what similar items cost.
- Someone pressures you to decide right now, or tries to move the conversation off the Site immediately.
- The story keeps changing, or the serial number does not match the photos.
Safe habits: look at the item in person, bring someone with you, meet in a public place in daylight, test the brakes and controls and battery before you pay, and pay only when you have the item or when the delivery partner has delivered it.
How we enforce these rules
- A person reviews every new seller's first listing.
- Anyone signed in can report a listing or a message.
- If three different people report the same live listing, it is pulled back for review automatically.
- We may remove listings, close accounts, and (where the law allows) share information with law enforcement.
- Messages are filtered for payment requests and contact details. We read reported messages and may read others when needed to keep members safe.
To report something, press Report this listing on the listing page or Report next to a message, or use the contact form.
